Entry Level Technician I

About the role

The Technician I position supports engineers for testing and equipment/lab maintenance. This role requires travel of at least 25%.

Responsibilities

• Set up tests, test equipment and test apparatus.
• Prepare test samples.
• Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
• Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude.
• Diligently follow safety practices, have knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management.
• Work closely with engineers and take directions to complete projects within certain policies and procedures.
• Daily cleanup and maintenance of labs, testing equipment, samples, and organize all tools and materials.
• Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
• Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.
• Perform other work as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook.
• Trade school certification or associate’s degree in technical field preferred.
• 1+ year of relatable experience preferred.
• NRTL safety certification experience preferred.
• Experience with PCB soldering, electrical wiring and/or plumbing/HVAC system preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
• Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
• Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
• Detail-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
• Able to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to travel, up to 25%.
