Entry Level Technician I
About the role
The Technician I position supports engineers for testing and equipment/lab maintenance. This role involves traveling at least 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Set up tests, test equipment and test apparatus.
- Prepare test samples.
- Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude.
- Diligently follow safety practices, have knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management.
- Work closely with engineers and take directions to complete projects within certain policies and procedures.
- Daily cleanup and maintenance of labs, testing equipment, samples, and organize all tools and materials.
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
- Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
- Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.
- Perform other work as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- No experience required.
- Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
- Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
- Detail-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
- Able to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to travel, up to 25%.
Qualifications
- Trade school certification or associate’s degree in technical field.
- 1+ year of relatable experience.
- NRTL safety certification experience.
- Experience with PCB soldering, electrical wiring and/or plumbing/HVAC system.
