About the role
As a Seasonal Entry Level Tax Preparer, you will guide clients through the tax process, prepare accurate returns, and provide IRS audit support. Classes start in early October to get certified for the next tax season. This role is critical to our mission of "Working Hard for the Hardest Working Americans."
Doing taxes is much more than filling in forms—it’s about easing clients' stress during what is often their biggest financial event of the year. You’ll play a key role in delivering expert customer service and tax knowledge.
Flexible schedules are available, including day, night, weekend, and weekday shifts. This is a full-time or part-time, non-remote position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients.
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns, including multiyear, multistate, and year-end forms.
- Provide IRS audit support and future tax planning to clients.
- Complete E-filing, print copies of returns for client review, and submit forms to IRS and state agencies.
- Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations while completing tax forms.
- Collect and process client payments, ensuring timely deposits.
- Engage in marketing and business generation efforts.
- Furnish taxpayers with information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Answer client calls via our national call center routing system.
- Resolve client complaints or escalate to a supervisor as needed.
- Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
- Passion for providing extraordinary customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of computer functions and math.
- Sales and/or marketing experience is a plus.
- Experience in accounting, finance, retail, bookkeeping, or taxes is a plus.
- PTIN Certification: Yes.
