Tax Manager

Responsibilities Manage tax engagements for businesses and individual clients.Review complex tax returns, including Partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation, and pass-through entity returns.Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services.Advise clients on business decisions, entity structure, transactions, and related tax implications.Support state and local tax matters, including multi-state tax considerations.Build and maintain year-round client relationships through monthly and quarterly advisory conversations.Identify tax planning opportunities, process improvements, and key business insights.Manage engagement workflows, deadlines, budgets, and client communications.Mentor, develop, and review the work of tax staff and senior accountants.Collaborate with firm leadership to deliver high-value client service.Support privately held businesses and business owners with tax compliance and advisory needs.Contribute to the growth and long-term success of the employee-owned CPA firm. Qualifications 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) license required.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.Strong technical knowledge of federal tax laws and regulations.Experience reviewing business tax returns.Experience managing tax engagements and client relationships.Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with privately held businesses and business owners.Strong pass-through entity tax experience.Partnership and S Corporation tax experience.Multi-state tax and State & Local Tax (SALT) experience.Experience mentoring and developing accounting and tax staff.Interest or experience in client advisory and business consulting services.
