Entry Level Surveyor

Description

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Entry Level Surveyor at our Rio Rancho, New Mexico office. This role will support the Survey Party Chief in the field as required for field survey work. No experience required. Must enjoy and have physical capabilities to work outside in the elements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Survey Party Chief in the field as required for field survey work for a wide array of projects such as boundary, topographic mapping and construction staking and other tasks.
• Ensures the safety of personnel and equipment.
• Surveys legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed.
• Aids in preparing data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
• Aids in verifying the accuracy of field survey data including measurements and calculations conducted on survey projects.
• Aids in quality control checks of plats and drawings prepared by other technicians.
• Ensures schedules and productivity objectives set by a supervisor for preparation of survey plats and drawings are achieved.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Willingness to learn topographic surveying
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Enjoy being outside, and have a good work ethic
• Solid listening, writing and verbal communications skills
• Capable of using Microsoft Office suite with excellent communication skills
• Ethical and professional in manner, attitude and dress
• Ability to operate motorized equipment
