About the Role
We are seeking an Entry-level Structural Engineer to join our Safety team. This role involves analyzing, designing, planning, and creating structural components and systems to ensure fall protection for LJB clients. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, or mechanical engineering with a focus on structural engineering, and new graduates to 3+ years of engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
Essential Functions
- Document structural systems in existing industrial/commercial/institutional facilities.
- Develop complex fall protection systems using fundamental structural engineering principles.
- Analyze building components supporting fall protection systems, including structural steel framing, cold-formed steel framing, and cast-in-place concrete.
- Prepare calculations detailing engineering design.
- Execute assigned engineering tasks using Revit and other CAD software.
- Assist with the preparation of construction documents.
- Access locations at height, climb ladders/scaffolding, use personal fall protection systems, and wear additional personal protective equipment, as required.
- Maintain technical knowledge through training initiatives, seminars, professional publications, and in-house systems/management training.
- Willingness to travel (50 to 75% of the time) to various US-based locations.
- Understand and train in OSHA/ANSI fall protection standards.
- Pass background checks, drug tests, and MVR checks.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties
- Work independently and collaboratively in team settings.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Traverse worksites in different types of weather and perform duties requiring bending, climbing, stretching, reaching, and leaning.
- Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, or mechanical engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
- New graduate to 3+ years of engineering experience, with knowledge and experience in the design of structural engineering projects (fall protection preferred).
- CAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred), RAM or other structural analysis software experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as OSHA 1910 and ANSI Z359.

Employment Details
- Salary Range: $65,000-80,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
