Responsibilities
- Assist in the structural design of a wide range of gravity and lateral structural building systems utilizing concrete, masonry, steel, and wood / timber.
- Train to design system layouts and calculations to support design activities.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients as part of Klingner’s design processes.
- Assist in conducting structural assessments and evaluations of structures to determine their safety, durability, and compliance with applicable codes.
- Prepare narratives and detailed engineering reports outlining existing conditions, recommendations, and opinions of probable cost, as necessary.
- Absorb project scope, schedule, and budget to minimize project write-offs.
- Leverage various software and tools to perform structural analysis, modeling, and simulations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil, Architectural, or Agricultural Engineering, specializing in structures.
- Must have intention to earn a Professional Engineer license in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, or Kentucky. Future intentions of taking the Structural Engineer licensure is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office software is a must.
- Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and keeping projects within budget is required.
- Ability to conduct all projects by quality standards and Klingner procedures, with a strong focus of on accuracy and quality of work.
- Goal-oriented with a drive to create high-quality designs, a strong sense of commitment, the willingness to learn, and the desire to work in a team environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication is a must.
Payscale
Salary Range: $30-$35 Salaries may vary based on experience and qualifications.
