Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Bridge & Transportation Structures

About the role

AECOM is actively seeking a Entry-Level Structural Bridge Engineer for our Glen Allen, Virginia office. As a Structural Bridge Engineer, you will work with project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts through to detailed design for implementation and support roles during the construction phase. This is a diverse role that will involve your contribution and insight into the effective delivery of its current and future portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with project teams to develop engineering solutions from initial concepts through detailed design
• Provide support during the construction phase
• Contribute insight to the effective delivery of current and future project portfolios

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• 0-2 years of relevant structural engineering experience

Skills

• Knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
• Familiarity with AASHTO and VDOT bridge design standards
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, or similar)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
