About the role
As part of the QP Manufacturing and Construction Engineering organization, you will apply your engineering and problem-solving skills to real-time assignments supporting VPM construction. This role offers opportunities to develop designs from inception to implementation on a variety of interesting applications.
Responsibilities
- Design development and production support of lifting and handling fixture designs and process support
- Lifting & handling arrangements - learning state-of-the-art crane capabilities and heavy load transporter operations
- Lifting and handling drawings and build strategies
- Lifting and handling risk mitigation plans
- Design and implementation of special tooling
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Civil (Structural) Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of Defense
- 0-4 years of post-graduate engineering experience
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
- Knowledge of submarine design and/or construction
- Experience with lifting/handling methods and/or structural fabrication techniques
- NX, Teamcenter, SOLIDWORKS, and/or AUTOCAD experience in 3D model manipulation, structural analysis, and 2D drawing development

- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Drive to be successful, and excellent attention to detail while being comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment
- Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking and technical project management
