Entry Level Site / Civil Engineer - May 2027

About the role

AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Site / Civil Engineer to join our growing Site / Civil team of design professionals in our Herndon, VA office. The position will start in May 2027 upon graduation. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a Site / Civil Engineer. In addition to supporting projects in the assigned office, the candidate may be involved with other AMT offices and project opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support and preparation of construction documents.
• Design of site and infrastructure improvements including grading, utilities, erosion control, stormwater management, and roadway improvements.
• Preparation of calculations and reports.
• Site inspections and construction administration duties.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• Technical proficiency in using AutoCAD including Civil 3D and/or MicroStation (preferred).
• Ability to assist on preparation of engineering studies and reports.
• EIT certification (preferred).
• Prior internship experience with preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates (preferred).
