Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer to join the Virginia Beach, VA office. The Junior Engineer will perform a variety of civil engineering functions in support of a growing office, working independently and client‑focused.

Responsibilities

• Civil/site development including grading design, roadway design, storm‑water management systems design, sanitary sewer design, water design, water‑reuse design, and erosion and sediment control design for private, municipal, state, and federal clients.
• Prepare drawing packages, calculations, reports, and spreadsheets in collaboration with a Professional Engineer.
• Participate on multidisciplinary design teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.
• Perform general civil‑engineering duties and technical work that requires strong communication and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICPR, VADOT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
• Learn and become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and proprietary software programs.

Required Skills & Experience

• BS degree in Civil Engineering (EIT preferred).
• 0–2 years of design experience related to site‑development projects.
• AutoCAD required; Civil3D preferable.
• Ability to work on teams, meet project deadlines, and adhere to budgets.
• Effective communication skills, including composing technical reports, permit documents, memorandums, and email correspondence.
• Clean driving record; driving is a requirement of the position.
• Other duties as required.

Pay

The projected salary range for this position is $77,000 – $79,500 annually; the exact amount may vary slightly based on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
