Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer
About the role
Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer to join our Richmond, VA office. The Junior Engineer will perform a variety of civil engineering functions in support of a growing office. This role requires flexibility, the ability to work independently, technological savvy, and a strong client focus.

Responsibilities
- Civil/Site development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, sanitary sewer design, water design, water reuse design, and erosion and sediment control design for private, municipal, state, and federal clients.
- Work with a Professional Engineer to prepare drawing packages, deliverables, calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate on design teams with other disciplines to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Perform fast-paced and diverse technical work requiring strong communication and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICPR, VADOT, MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
- Learn and become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and other Dewberry-specific software programs.
- Compose technical reports, permit documents, memorandums, and other written communications such as email.
- Meet project deadlines and budgets while working effectively on teams.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- BS degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT is preferred.
- 0–2 years of design experience related to site development projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil3D is preferable.
- Ability to work on teams, meet project deadlines, and communicate effectively.
- Clean driving record; driving is a requirement of the position.

Pay
The projected salary range for this position is $82,000 – $84,500 annually, depending on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
