Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer
About the role
The ideal candidate will be joining Dewberry's Leesburg, VA office to work on various aspects of civil/municipal engineering including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sediment control design. They may also conduct permitting and code research, write specifications, and prepare and submit permit applications. Additionally, they may analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models and computations for storm water and watershed master planning.
Responsibilities
- Conducting site and civil engineering tasks including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sediment control design.
- Performing permitting and code research, writing specifications, and preparing and submitting permit applications.
- Analyzing hydrologic and hydraulic models and computations for storm water and watershed master planning.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Previous internship experience in Site/Civil engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency using CADD.
- Desire to work in a team environment.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is preferred but not required.
