Entry-Level Quality Inspector

About the role

Road & Rail Services seeks an Entry-Level Quality Inspector to perform visual inspections of new vehicles for transportation-related damage, document findings, and enter inspection data into customer reporting systems. The role focuses on accurate reporting rather than mechanical repair, with training provided on inspection procedures, damage identification, documentation requirements, and the systems used. Work is primarily outdoors at a vehicle and rail facility, requiring adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed visual inspections of vehicles for transportation-related damage
• Identify and document scratches, dents, marks, and other applicable damage
• Review and verify damage that has already been reported
• Inspect vehicles located both on and off railcars
• Accurately record inspection results and supporting information
• Enter vehicle damage reports into manufacturer/OEM reporting websites
• Submit applicable documentation through the BNSF reporting system
• Communicate inspection findings and documentation concerns to appropriate personnel
• Help monitor or control designated areas while vehicles are awaiting repairs
• Follow established procedures when working around vehicles, railcars, and other equipment
• Maintain accurate and complete inspection records
• Follow all Road & Rail Services and customer safety requirements
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to accurately enter and maintain information
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Availability to consistently work Wednesday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Willingness to work outdoors throughout your shift
• Ability to safely access and perform work around railcars
• No prior vehicle inspection experience required; training provided
• Experience in quality inspection, automotive operations, transportation, logistics, inventory, data entry, or vehicle processing is helpful but not required
