About the role
Cogent Scientific, an insourced contract research organization, is seeking an Entry-level Pharma Biochemist to support the life sciences industry by delivering specialized laboratory services that advance research, foster collaboration, and accelerate innovation through quality and a shared commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative in-vivo ICP-MS and LC-MS/MS analysis of biological samples, including tissue homogenization and digestion.
- Operate basic laboratory equipment and mass spectrometer systems.
- Perform wet laboratory techniques: weighing, pipetting, and digestion of biological matrices.
- Handle and work with biohazard and chemical hazard materials.
- Generate, analyze, and process data and assist with report writing.
- Manage sample receiving, shipping, and inventory.
- Use MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) proficiently.
Requirements
- BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 1-2 years of experience working in an academic or industry laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with basic Pharmacokinetic principles is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with sample preparation techniques in a bioanalytical laboratory.
- Experience with Agilent ICP-MS, MassHunter software, or any LC/MS system is an added advantage.
- Experience with microwave digestion and homogenization sample preparation is a plus.
- Experience with a LIMS system and/or an electronic notebook system is desirable.
- Team player mentality with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and detail-oriented approach.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Prior presentation skills would be advantageous.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and adaptable with leadership and communication skills.
