About the role
Cox Fleet is accepting applications for its paid FleeTec Academy, a 10-week program that trains candidates to become full-time Mobile Diesel Mechanics. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on mentorship and leads to a full-time position servicing customer fleets at their locations.
Training & Support
- Five weeks of full-time paid classroom training at the Academy campus, followed by additional paid classroom weeks later in the program
- Travel, hotel, meal stipend, and hourly pay provided during training
- Free technical education in diesel engines and truck repair
- Tool kit and toolbox provided upon enrollment; tools are yours to keep
- Ongoing mentorship with a Lead Technician in your market
- Small class sizes—one opening per market—to ensure personalized instruction
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on customer vehicles at their locations using a state-of-the-art service vehicle
- Complete required coursework and hands-on training modules
- Adhere to safety and quality standards while representing Cox Fleet on-site
Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician and willingness to commit to the 10-week training program
- Ability and willingness to study hard and focus on technical material
- Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles
- Maturity and dedication to complete the program
- Ability to operate an iPad
- Must be at least 21 years old to drive company service vehicles
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Pass background check, driving record check, pre-employment drug test, and physical
Pay
- $13/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) plus $250/week stipend (taxed) during the first phase
- $19/hour for six weeks after the first phase
- $19/hour plus $250/week stipend (taxed) for four weeks during the second classroom session
- $21/hour upon graduation and conversion to full-time Mobile Diesel Mechanic
