Entry Level Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Performing mechanical engineering work through the life cycle of equipment from design development, to construction, installation and maintenance for industrial, commercial, and aerospace facilities.

Responsibilities

• Aid in facility mechanical and/or plumbing design engineering (plans, specifications, calculations and cost estimates) for new facilities, facility modernization and aerospace ground support facilities and equipment projects.
• Perform system sizing calculations using engineering software and tools such as HVAC heat load calculations (Trane TRACE), pump sizing calculations, and plumbing system sizing under supervision.
• Conduct facility condition assessments and capital asset management planning.
• Carry out detailed construction cost analyses using RSMeans CostWorks and material take-offs of a variety of building types and equipment types (both US and international locations).
• Support field construction activities.
• Write technical design narrative reports and engineering trade studies.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Experience: Zero to two years’ experience. Prior engineering co-op/internship experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using engineering tools and software: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams/Sharepoint and email; Applications; Experience in Autodesk Revit (experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, PTC Creo or Solidworks and other modeling/drafting software preferred); Experience in construction cost estimation software such as CostWorks or design markup/takeoffs in Bluebeam preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Valid/Unrestricted FL driver license.
• Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. Ability to obtain a clearance from the Defense Security Service and other Federal Government Agencies.

Physical Demands

• Performing inspections and providing construction support may require climbing ladders and stairs and accessing spaces such as roofs, basements, crawl spaces or utility tunnels.
• Industrial site investigations and field construction support may require extensive walking.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $72,000 - $80,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:
