About the Role
Launch your engineering career by designing HVAC and piping systems, collaborating with project teams, and supporting innovative mechanical construction projects from concept through installation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of HVAC and piping systems in compliance with applicable building codes, ordinances, and ASHRAE standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, P&IDs, engineering calculations, equipment selections, installation details, bid summaries, and contract documents.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with project teams, clients, and contractors to convey design intent and resolve design issues during construction.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including estimators, project managers, and drafters, to ensure cohesive project planning and execution.
- Provide system-specific design services, including layouts, specifications, calculations, and system narratives.
- Attend project-related meetings, including pre-bid and construction meetings, to support project success.
- Utilize engineering software and tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and project tracking tools to support design and project management tasks.
- Oversee projects from sales handoff through design completion and installation support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or an associate degree in a related field.
- HVAC product and system knowledge.
- Knowledge of HVAC fundamentals.
- Desire to pursue and obtain an HVAC Designer stamp and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Exposure to Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, ACC, and Bluebeam.
- Ability to access job sites, including climbing, crawling, kneeling, walking, and performing other necessary movements to inspect systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain a professional, cooperative demeanor with internal and external customers under pressure.
