Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Fredericktown, OH
About the role
A leading automotive manufacturer producing steel and aluminum components through advanced processes including CNC machining, aluminum casting, heat treatment, and automated assembly. We are seeking a Production Engineer to support manufacturing operations through process improvement, troubleshooting, automation support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze production performance using downtime, scrap, capacity, and process flow data to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for recurring manufacturing issues.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for equipment, automation systems, and production processes.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
- Support manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, robotics, and related automation technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
- Experience within a manufacturing, process engineering, automation, or production engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control systems, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, ladder logic, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, and assembly documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Electric CAD, PLEX, and other manufacturing software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Basic robotics, PLC programming, and NC programming experience.
- Continuous improvement and process optimization experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices.
Minimal travel as required for training, equipment support, or project implementation.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $26.45 - $26.45/hr.
