Entry Level Land Surveyor/Instrument Operator
Dewberry is seeking responsible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented individuals to join our Land Surveying department in Charlotte, NC as an Entry Level Land Surveyor. This role serves our southeastern territory and involves working in a team environment as part of a survey crew.
About the Role
Assist in performing boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys using the latest equipment and surveying technology. The position offers advancement opportunities for motivated individuals eager to learn the skills and technology required of a Land Surveyor.

Responsibilities
- Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
- Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
- Ensure safekeeping of equipment.
- Maintain vehicles in a supplied and orderly condition, ready for duty.
- Perform tasks in various outdoor and construction-site environments under all weather conditions and terrain.
- Stoop, crawl, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs (including body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes).
- Stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Work overtime as required.
- Travel for extended periods as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (minimum).
- Good mathematical skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Dependable and physically able to work outdoors on construction sites.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.
- Experience with Electric Transmission and Oil and Gas Transmission projects is a plus.
