What You'll Do
- Assist with job startup, checkout, and troubleshooting for HVAC control systems.
- Absorb wiring checkout and automation system startups utilizing commissioning tools.
- Learn to complete adjustments/calibrations and submit commissioning reports on automation systems.
- Participate in job site meetings and final walkthroughs on assigned jobs and complete job closeout documentation.
- Assist with repairs to building systems such as air handler controls, room controls, chilled water controls, and issues related to building automation systems.
- Support project transition from installation to service team.
- Complete paperwork on time including timesheets, expense reports, posting work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.
- Participate in company-provided training and development opportunities to build technical expertise in building automation and controls systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; mechanical, electrical, or related technical degree preferred.
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC controls and building automation systems.
- Previous experience with HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, construction, or related technical work preferred.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems or mechanical/electrical systems.
- Ability to learn new technologies and apply technical concepts in a hands-on environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
- Travel to customer job sites which requires the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to maintain a professional appearance.
- May be required to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company.
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
