Entry Level Field Safety Specialist
Primary Responsibilities
- Cook up safety activities as directed by the Safety Manager.
- Conduct daily project site inspections and field audits.
- Aid in incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action implementation.
- Analyze incident reports and identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain authority to identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Exercise stop work authority when unsafe acts or hazardous conditions are identified.
- Assist with supervisory safety inspections and ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and governmental safety regulations.
- Participate in and lead Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews and pre-task planning meetings.
- Conduct behavioral safety observations and reinforce safe work practices in the field.
- Train and coach company safety procedures and regulatory requirements, including:
- Hazard Communication
- Confined Space
- Hot Work
- PPE Requirements
- Emergency Response Procedures
- Support safety stand-downs, client audits, and project safety initiatives.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with company and client safety expectations.
- Distribute and explain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), PPE requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Afford maintenance of safety documentation, records, and project compliance tracking.
- Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to support safe project execution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 1–3 years of construction, utility, pipeline, industrial, or related field experience preferred.
- Previous safety experience is preferred but not required.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local safety regulations, including OSHA and Cal/OSHA requirements preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and operational demands.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to coach positively influences frontline operations personnel.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.
- Ability to travel with limited notice.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to walk uneven terrain and active construction sites.
- Ability to lift and carry safety equipment and materials as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods of time.

$110,000-150,000/year (Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience.)
