About the role

We are looking for an Entry-level Scientist or Geologist to join our Environmental Services team in northeast Florida. This is a hybrid position with approximately 60% fieldwork and travel expected. You will report to a Project Manager in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine field activities including sample collection (soil, groundwater), drilling oversight, well development, soil logging, and site inspections.
  • Prepare written documents (field notes and forms, permits, work plans, health & safety plans, etc.) in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, including preparing tabulated data and figures, using good time management.
  • Assist with the preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Reports with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, calculations, data, etc.) before submission.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulators.
  • Prepare permit applications and regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation.
  • Prepare short-form site-specific health and safety plans.
  • Complete field and office assignments in a quality and safe manner.
  • Pursue technical improvement for self and company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology, engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 months of relevant environmental internship, work, and/or research experience required.
  • Microsoft Office software knowledge and fluency required.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring and GPS field equipment preferred.
  • Completion of 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training preferred, or willingness to complete this training upon employment.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay

USD $60,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 per year.
