About the role
We are looking for an Entry Level Electrical Engineer / Designer to assist in executing electrical design for mission-critical projects. Typical projects include greenfield and brownfield data center facilities, hyperscale and enterprise client fit-outs, campus planning, conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and power systems studies (e.g., Neher-McGrath, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash). This role involves executing design tasks as part of a broader electrical team while developing skills under the guidance of senior and mid-level engineers. The candidate will collaborate with internal disciplines (mechanical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing) and external partners (architectural, civil, structural). This position is open to full-time, part-time, and internship/co-op applicants.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and drawing of electrical infrastructure for mission-critical buildings and campuses, including:
- Medium voltage distribution
- Highly redundant power systems (e.g., distributed and block redundant topologies)
- On-site generation and UPS backup
- Building systems such as small power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm
- Coordinate between internal and external disciplines for electrical power connections to equipment.
- Review and apply client standards, design criteria, applicable codes, and best practices under senior engineer guidance.
- Understand local and national construction codes and project specifications to broaden knowledge of the construction process.
- Use Autodesk Revit daily to produce detailed design documents.
- Utilize Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) for project work.
- Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
- Travel to project sites and meetings as required (less than 10% travel).
- Communicate clearly in written and spoken forms.
- Take direction from senior and mid-level engineers to execute design elements.
- Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to grow knowledge and capabilities.
- Maintain excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Requirements
- 2- or 4-year degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred; electrical construction experience with a drafting certification will also be considered.
- Past internship, co-op, or work experience in consulting engineering is a plus.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Experience using Revit in an educational or professional context is a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
Pay
Base compensation: $65,000–$85,000 (varies based on education, experience, skills, and location).
