Job Description Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems operating from 4kV through 138kV mostly associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports.Comply with Leidos and Client Safety requirements as well as design and quality expectations.Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections and return to the office to perform engineering design work. Perform engineering calculations such as: structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculation of voltage drop and flicker. Develop permitting documents for different AHJ’s. Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met. Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completed ABET 4 year Engineering Degree (no outstanding credits) - Civil, Electrical or MechanicalPassion and interest in Power Utilities and DistributionCAD Design Experience (AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, MicroStation, Inventor, MATLAB, etc.)0-2 years of ExperienceValid Drivers License Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). Work Environment The office environment consists of a mix of Designer, Engineers, and Design Technicians, supporting distribution projects. The work setting promotes teamwork and involves working in groups on various projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $31.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
