About the role

We are seeking an Entry Level Electrical Engineer / Designer to assist in executing electrical design for mission-critical projects. Typical projects include greenfield and brownfield data center facilities, hyperscale and enterprise fit-out packages, campus planning, conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and power systems studies (e.g., Neher-McGrath, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash). This role involves executing design tasks as part of a broader electrical team while developing skills under the guidance of senior and mid-level engineers. The candidate will collaborate with internal disciplines (mechanical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing) and external partners (architectural, civil, structural). This position is open to full-time, part-time, and internship/co-op applicants.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and drawing of electrical infrastructure for mission-critical buildings and campuses, including medium voltage distribution, highly redundant power systems (e.g., distributed and block redundant topologies), on-site generation, UPS backup, small power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm.
• Coordinate between internal and external disciplines for electrical power connections to equipment.
• Review and apply client standards, design criteria, applicable codes, and best practices under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Gain familiarity with local and national construction codes and project specifications to understand the construction process.
• Use Autodesk Revit daily to produce detailed design documents.
• Utilize Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) for project work and communication.
• Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
• Travel to project sites and meetings as required (less than 10% travel).
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken forms.
• Take direction from senior and mid-level engineers to execute specific design elements.
• Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to grow knowledge and capabilities.
• Maintain excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Requirements

• 2- or 4-year degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred; electrical construction experience with a drafting certification will also be considered.
• Past internship, co-op, or work experience in a consulting engineering role is a plus.
• Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
• Experience using Revit in an educational or professional context is a plus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.

Pay

Base compensation: $65,000–$85,000 (varies based on education, experience, skills, and location).
