At MP, you won’t be limited to one project type or tucked away working on a small piece of a much larger process. You’ll work alongside architects, engineers, clients, and firm leadership on meaningful projects across the Gulf South, with exposure to municipal, educational, commercial, industrial, and advanced manufacturing work. What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll contribute to the design of electrical systems for building projects, working alongside architects, engineers, clients, and construction teams. You’ll have the opportunity to build your technical skills and see your work take shape from early design through construction. You’ll have the opportunity to:· Develop electrical one-line diagrams and power distribution systems· Design power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems· Prepare project-specific specifications, scopes of work, and panel schedules· Conduct site visits and field investigations to evaluate existing conditions· Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies· Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, and structural designs· Review submittals and shop drawings for design compliance· Support construction administration and fire alarm system design· Complete lighting calculations using industry-standard tools to meet project requirements What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who is ready to learn, contribute, and grow with a collaborative team. Our ideal candidate has:· A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field· An internship or hands-on experience is a plus· A basic understanding of electrical systems, the National Electrical Code, and applicable local codes· Familiarity with AutoCAD; Revit MEP experience is a plus· Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail· An interest in pursuing Professional Engineer licensure *Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
