Entry Level Design Applications Engineer
Responsibilities
- Aid in the design and development of custom machinery, tooling, and engineered components using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
- Support projects through the full product lifecycle, including concept development, design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and implementation.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
- Work closely with manufacturing personnel to support machining, assembly, and production activities.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Assist with material selection and design modifications to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding component specifications and technical requirements.
- Participate in customer visits, plant walkthroughs, and occasional field service support as needed.
- Help develop product manuals, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Assist with engineering change requests and product updates throughout the manufacturing process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 6 months of engineering, design, manufacturing experience (will consider internships and/or co-op experience).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, or similar CAD software.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn the full lifecycle of engineered products.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing of custom equipment and components used in the glass container industry. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects from concept through production, gaining exposure to mechanical design, product development, manufacturing processes, customer interaction, and project execution.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
