About the role
Designs and develops propulsion plant and non-propulsion components supporting new design fast attack programs within VIRGINIA Class and the next generation attack boat SSN(X).
Responsibilities
- Perform varied project management tasks including program planning, specification and procedure development, preparation of technical correspondence, technical manual review, coordination with other Electric Boat departments, review of vendor deliverables (drawings, design reports, procedures, technical correspondence, calculations and test reports), qualification and production test support, supplier oversight, and cost and schedule control.
- Regular interface with other engineering disciplines, management, naval personnel, prime contractor technical personnel, vendors, purchasing/supply-chain, quality control, trades and other Electric Boat support personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering
- 0-5 years of post graduate engineering experience
Preferred
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering
- Component development experience
- Program and/or project management experience
