About the role

Easy Ice is a growing company that provides an all-inclusive commercial ice machine subscription to business owners nationwide. As a Technician I, you’ll help restaurants, bars, hospitals, hotels, and other businesses get the ice they need through installation, preventative maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of our ice machines. This role is critical in ensuring optimal functionality and cleanliness of our equipment to meet customer service requirements while operating with proficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining equipment in good working order, and a willingness to learn and grow within the field of ice machine repair and maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Install, clean, repair, and maintain ice machines per Easy Ice standard operating procedures to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness.
  • Perform comprehensive servicing and preventative maintenance of ice machine equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to complete work orders and assignments on time.
  • Accurately document all actions performed during service visits, including photos, forms, reports, logs, and maintenance records.
  • Ensure proper truck stock at all times to avoid unnecessary return trips and delays in customer service.
  • Manage the pickup and delivery of ice as needed for service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Identify and report additional actions required to enhance customer satisfaction, such as parts replacement or equipment repairs.
  • Facilitate accurate payment processing from customers and assist in equipment shutdown or removal when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and vehicle, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Leave every machine serviced in a condition that makes it easier for other technicians to follow.
  • Follow all protocols for completing and communicating work orders to prevent inaccuracies or billing delays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); vocational/technical training preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service-oriented technical role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with ice machines, HVAC maintenance, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components related to ice machines or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and standard repair practices.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to complete service calls in a timely manner.
  • Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use ladders, and handle tools or parts.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods (6+ hours per day).
  • May be subject to elevated noise levels in the work environment.
  • Drive a vehicle for up to 60 percent of hours worked.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
