Entry Level Civil Engineer – Dubuque, Iowa

Responsibilities

• Municipal utility and roadway design
• Site design
• Quantity estimates
• Other engineering support functions
• Design and prepare roadway construction drawings
• Create typical/cross sections, erosion and sediment control plans, maintenance of traffic plans, stormwater management, drainage design, signing and pavement marking plans, and right-of-way plans
• Develop 3-D models using Bentley CONNECT or Civil 3D software
• Provide oversight of CADD technicians to verify work is done properly and accurately
• Perform construction observation
• Conduct field-required concrete or asphalt testing
• Prepare and document material reports, test results, and material sources
• Maintain daily inspection logs and address discrepancies with appropriate parties
• Prepare and review pay reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• E.I. certification or ability to take the F.E. exam within 6 months
• 0-5 years of experience in municipal or transportation design
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent computer and communication skills
• Experience with Autocad Civil 3D and/or Bentley CONNECT

Pay

Salary Range $65,000-$85,000 annually
