Entry Level Chemist- Package Testing

About the role
This position follows a 4/10 schedule on 2nd or 3rd shift. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply. No relocation assistance will be provided. This role may require up to 25% travel and is not remote.
Responsibilities
- Complete all training in a timely and thorough manner
- Work with an experienced analyst/mentor to perform tasks and analyses of bio/pharmaceutical ingredients and products
- Review or prepare standards and samples for analysis
- Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation independently or with guidance
- Ensure clients receive quality data by reviewing laboratory data for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to GMP and/or GLP regulations
- Apply GMP/GLP standards in all areas of responsibility
- Maintain the highest quality standards in all tasks
- Demonstrate and promote the company vision
- Exhibit strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration
- Proactively plan and multitask to maximize productivity
- Meet all quality and productivity metrics
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Perform laboratory operations with good dexterity, technique, accuracy, and precision
- Prepare reagents, samples, and standards according to procedures
- Document testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly and completely in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Perform calculations as required by test methods
- Use computers for information access, calculations, and report preparation
- Read and understand analytical procedures (compendial and client-supplied) and internal SOPs
- Use MS Windows applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Process data, generate reports, and evaluate data
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Independently seek out work tasks
- Perform laboratory maintenance and ensure good housekeeping
- Commit to occasional overtime as workload requires
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Communicate effectively with client staff members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Microbiology lab skills: pipetting, microscopes, staining, plating, etc.
- Good dexterity and positive, solution-driven attitude
- Strong work habits: organized, efficient, careful, safety-conscious, and accurate
- Attention to detail and sound scientific logic
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of instrumentation
- Client service focused
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to work with moderate supervision after training completion
- Ability to handle multitasking
Med device experience is a plus.
Schedule
Full-Time, Second or Third Shift: Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat, 2pm-12am or 12am-10am.
