About the role
Custom Agri Systems Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level CAD Drafter to join our team in West Fargo, ND.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings using company drafting standards.
- Aid in preparing fabrication, construction, and installation drawings.
- Interpret sketches, specifications, and engineering notes to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Update existing drawings to reflect design changes and field modifications.
- Organize and maintain electronic drawing files and project documentation.
- Cookordinate with project managers, engineers, and production staff to ensure drawing accuracy.
- Review drawings for completeness, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
- Assist with material takeoffs and basic project documentation when needed.
- Learn industry standards related to grain handling equipment, grain bins, conveyors, and support structures.
- Assist in going to sites to help gather dimensional information and other data.
- Manage procurement of materials and in-house production of basic components for grain handling.
- Perform other drafting and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Required: Technical diploma or associate degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred (or currently pursuing).
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks.
- Internship or classroom experience producing technical drawings.
- Familiarity with construction, manufacturing, or agricultural equipment.
- Basic understanding of mechanical drafting principles.
- Assist with site layout & ability to run a total station.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to visit production facilities or construction sites as needed.
- Ability to distinguish colors, lines, and fine details in technical drawings.
Work Environment
- Office-based position located in West Fargo, ND.
- Occasional visits to fabrication shops, warehouses, or job sites.
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime during busy project periods.
