CAD Drafter (Open To Entry Level)
About The Role
We're seeking an Entry-Level CAD Drafter with experience in CAD drafting and 3D rendering to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with senior architects, designers, and project managers to help bring residential construction projects from concept to reality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in drafting, architecture, engineering, or residential design. You'll gain hands-on experience throughout the design-build process while contributing to high-end custom home projects.
What You'll Do
- Create detailed 2D CAD drawings, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, and construction details
- Develop 3D models and renderings using BIM and drafting software
- Translate design concepts, sketches, and specifications into precise technical drawings
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and clients to support project goals and design requirements
- Revise and update drawings based on field conditions, client feedback, and project changes
- Ensure plans comply with local building codes, zoning requirements, and industry standards
- Assist with material takeoffs, bills of materials (BOMs), and dimensional verification
- Maintain accurate project documentation and drawing records
- Participate in project coordination meetings and help resolve design and construction challenges
- Manage drafting assignments within project schedules while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with CAD software and 3D modeling/rendering platforms such as SketchUp, Revit, Chief Architect, and/or Archicad
- Ability to create accurate, detailed technical drawings
- Understanding of drafting principles, construction documentation, and industry standards
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or interest in residential architecture and interior design
- Familiarity with residential construction methods and materials
- Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes

Pay
The pay range for this position is $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per hour.
Schedule
This is a fully onsite position in Easton, CT. This is a Contract to Hire position.
