Entry Level BESS Technician

The Entry Level Travel Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout the United States. This is an up to 100% travel role across the United States. Preferred candidates should reside in California.

Core Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
• Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
• Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
• Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Core Experience

• 1+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is preferred.
• 1+ years of Renewable energy experience is preferred.
• A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
• Post-secondary education or Technical school is preferred.
• Electrical certifications are preferred such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E.
• Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements is required.

Physical/Work Environment

• Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
• Candidates residing in California are preferred.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license for at least a year.
• Work possible rotating shifts (100% travel is required for this position).
• Prolong standing and working in ergonomic challenging positions.
• Varying climates based upon locations.

Compensation

• Base Pay Range: $22 USD - $25 USD
