Entry-level Auto Technician
About the role
We’re looking for Automotive Mechanics with a minimum of 6 months of professional automotive repair experience to join Carvana, the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and one of the four fastest companies to make the Fortune 500. As an Entry-Level Technician, you’ll perform light maintenance, fluid checks, and/or conduct the initial inspection on our vehicles to identify any imperfections or repairs needed throughout the reconditioning process.
At Carvana, you’ll work in one of our high-tech Inspection Centers using state-of-the-art tools. If you’re joining us in an entry-level position, we offer training programs to ensure your skills and pay progress along with the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform light maintenance and fluid checks
- Conduct initial inspections on vehicles to identify imperfections or needed repairs
- Work in a fast-paced production environment
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of professional automotive repair experience (for Entry-Level Auto Technician role)
- Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools, including lifting up to 60 pounds independently
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license (some positions may require a Motor Vehicle Records check)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold)
- Use of safety equipment, including face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective garments and equipment
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Schedule
Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs to ensure we deliver great vehicles on time.

- Mid-Level (Mechanical Repair / Build / General) Technician (min 3 years of professional experience): perform light to medium automotive repairs and minimal diagnostics
- Experienced Technician (min 5 years of professional experience): perform extensive repairs, heavy engine work, and advanced vehicle diagnostics on all makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles
