Entry Level Accountant

We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join a growing wealth management firm in Stamford, Connecticut. This opportunity is well suited for someone at the early stages of their career who wants to strengthen foundational accounting skills in a collaborative environment.

About the role

The person in this role will contribute to core accounting activities, support the monthly close process, and help maintain accurate financial information across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Record routine journal entries and help keep the general ledger accurate and up to date.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts by researching discrepancies and resolving variances.
• Support month-end accounting activities by organizing financial data and assisting with closing tasks.
• Process incoming and outgoing transactions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable with close attention to accuracy.
• Prepare supporting schedules and assist in the development of internal financial reports.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation to support daily operations and reporting needs.
• Provide assistance during audit preparation and contribute to ad hoc assignments as business needs arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Up to 2 years of accounting experience, which may include internships or entry-level work.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with financial data.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work consistently.
• Effective organizational and communication skills for working within a team environment.
• Demonstrated interest in learning, developing accounting expertise, and growing in a corporate accounting role.
