Entry Level- 911 Call Taker

Responsibilities

Handle a variety of police, fire, and medical-related calls and texts.

Gather essential information from callers to determine the appropriate routing using established guidelines and scripts.

Accurately document call details (date, time, nature of call, location, etc.).

Use Intrado tools to ensure calls are transferred to the correct jurisdiction.

Maintain strong teamwork and communication with peers and leadership.

Provide respectful, professional service to all callers and partners.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree in communication, business, or related field preferred (Equivalent relevant experience may be considered).
• Experience & Skills: Experience working in a 24x7 environment preferred. Experience working in a call center environment preferred. Customer service experience over the phone. Basic computer skills and comfort working with multiple applications. Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced, call-driven environment. Strong listening skills and attention to detail. Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, overnights, holidays and weekends. Strong attendance and schedule adherence.

Pay

The starting salary is anticipated between $24-25 an hour and will be commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Schedules include set days off that are known in advance. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts are 10-12 hours per day. Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
