Entry Fitter

About the role

NABRICO Marine Products is searching for an Entry Fitter in their Caruthersville, MO barge plant. This position involves applying welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Perform spot welds up to 3".
• Be capable of performing simple fitter and welder functions, with close supervision.
• Train for welding position.
• Perform general housekeeping/clean-up in assigned work area.
• Perform other similar or related job as assigned.
• Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a filtering face piece and/or tight fitting respirator.
• May require working above ground (15 ft or more).
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
• May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time.
• May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous welding experience preferred.
• Capable of qualifying as Welder Trainee and performing some cutting torch training.
• Capable of welding 3” stringer beads in all positions.
• Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a filtering face piece and/or tight fitting respirator.
