Entertainment Market Research Quality Control Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist who will assist with vendor management and quality control of coding for our global research studies, including online surveys, in-person intercepts, recruited audiences, and exit polls. The Quality Control Specialist must be reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team, and be an effective communicator to all levels of management, vendors, and teams. The ability to multi-task, stay organized, and have a high level of attention to detail will be critical.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with third-party vendors to execute open-ended coding for online surveys, in-person intercepts, screenings, exit polling, and tracking from project set-up through completion.
- Oversee the data quality of our coding deliverables by reviewing coding files for accuracy and providing real-time feedback to the third-party vendors.
- Monitor vendor progress and ensure projects are on track to be delivered by their deadlines.
- Manage the coding of film screenings by attending the showing, writing a synopsis, building code frames and scene lists, and maintaining an open line of communication with the third-party vendor to answer any questions they may have about the film content.
- Leverage approved AI tools to enhance coding, quality-control, and project-management workflows while applying sound judgment to validate outputs, protect confidential information, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of all deliverables.
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional experience, preferably in coding, market research, project management, or entertainment.
- An enthusiasm for research and coding, with a passion for entertainment and staying up to date on industry trends and developments.
- College degree preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including high proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Proficiency with AI tools also preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent reading comprehension and interpretation skills.
- Ability to successfully manage time and competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met; able to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Hawk-eyed attention to detail to ensure no errors slip through the cracks in quality control and reporting.
- Self-starter who is internally motivated and continuously strives to get things done, regardless of challenges encountered.
- Ability to work collaboratively and/or initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a variable schedule based on business needs. While many shifts will follow a standard 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. schedule, evening, overnight, early-morning, and weekend work—including Saturdays and Sundays—will frequently be required. Quality Control Specialists must attend recruited audience screenings and may be expected to work after screenings through the early morning until coding is complete.
This position also requires travel to screening locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area, including Northridge, Sherman Oaks, Orange County, Long Beach, San Bernardino County, and more. Most travel will be local; however, occasional out-of-town travel may also be required.

Pay
The anticipated compensation for this role in the Los Angeles area is $21 per hour. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
