Enterprise Voice Engineer III
About the role
The Enterprise Voice Engineer will support DISA Voice Services, ensuring their secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability. This role involves maintaining and managing a complex IP voice and video communications infrastructure, performing problem and change management, and supporting distributed firewall infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering tasks to maintain a large, complex and highly resilient IP voice and video communications infrastructure.
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot and assure service supporting all aspects of a voice, video and data network.
- Document and diagram network configurations and understand WAN principles.
- Support capacity planning activities and complete configuration change actions and documentation efforts.
- Configure and implement calling search spaces, route plans, route partitions, route lists and device profiles.
- Configure Cisco or Juniper routing and switching devices.
- Support distributed firewall infrastructure.
- Develop technical policy, work instructions and reporting in support of an enterprise IP telephony network.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical problems utilizing foundational knowledge of SIP signaling and call-flows.
- Analyze and resolve remote site registration, signaling and media problems.
- Validate change requests and ensure accuracy.
- Perform fault analysis and configuration of voice subscribers, call handlers and call routing rules.
- Perform fault analysis and configuration of Cisco and or Juniper routing and switching rules.
Requirements
Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, Security+ CE or equivalent. Experience with Cisco, Avaya or Oracle voice platforms including CUCM, Unity, CUBE, and Oracle SBC. Expertise in SIP internetworking signaling and call flow. Active Secret security clearance required.
Qualifications
- BS or equivalent with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or MS with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of SRTP, DTMF, and familiarity with QoS classification, marking, and prioritization.
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Avaya Aura soft switches, and other voice media gateways.
- Experience supporting distributed firewall infrastructure and BGP routing protocols.
Skills
Strong organizational and document-oriented skills, ability to diagram and understand WAN principles, proficiency in SIP signaling and call flows, and experience with advanced fault analysis.
