Enterprise - Software Engineer - API, Agile, Linux
About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. As part of a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems, working closely with other engineers to create innovative solutions for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern tools and technologies, stay current with industry trends, and contribute to high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced, small business setting.
This position allows for partial telework and requires U.S. citizenship. A current U.S. Government Security clearance is not required at start, but you will be processed for a Secret level clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems
- Work closely with other engineers to create software solutions that meet client needs
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development
- Seamlessly transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, including mentorship and leadership
- Serve as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams
- Work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our San Antonio, TX office
- Adapt to schedule changes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Nine (9) years experience in Software Engineering, with a Bachelor’s in a related field; seven (7) years with a Master’s in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and thirteen (13) years relevant experience
- Strong working knowledge and experience developing Java-based software capabilities
- Inquisitive nature, responsiveness, and excellent testing skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
- Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments using tools like Helm and Flux
- Experience designing enterprise APIs and RESTful web services
- Experience with microservices architecture and the agile software lifecycle
- Proven ability to learn quickly and work well both independently and in a team setting
- Experience with the Linux operating system and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven)
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 - $275,000, depending on education and years of experience.
