Position Overview

The Enterprise Server Platform Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing infrastructure project activities across Brunswick’s enterprise technology platforms. This role supports infrastructure transformation, migration, modernization, implementation, and cutover efforts across Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, cloud, virtualized, and physical environments. The role works within established project governance, ITSM, change management, access governance, and security processes to deliver assigned project work, validate implementation readiness, coordinate dependencies, execute cutover tasks, support migration waves, and ensure project outcomes are documented, tested, transitioned, and accepted by operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned infrastructure project tasks across Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, cloud, virtualized, and physical environments.
  • Translate project requirements, implementation plans, and technical designs into actionable execution steps, checklists, validation activities, and completion evidence.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional dependencies needed to deliver infrastructure project milestones.
  • Use ServiceNow CMDB and project tracking tools to validate and maintain asset ownership, hosting location, application mappings, configuration details, lifecycle status, project scope, and execution readiness.
  • Support project readiness activities including dependency validation, access confirmation, backup verification, monitoring readiness, configuration review, connectivity testing, and stakeholder sign‑off.
  • Participate in migration waves, implementation events, cutover windows, go‑live activities, and hyper‑care periods to execute assigned infrastructure tasks.
  • Track execution status, risks, blockers, issues, completion evidence, and handoff items during project delivery and cutover events.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve implementation issues and keep project milestones, dependencies, and escalation paths visible.
  • Support project‑related change requests, implementation schedules, CAB preparation, stakeholder communication, validation plans, back‑out plans, and closure documentation.
  • Identify and communicate project execution risks, technical blockers, dependency gaps, access constraints, and readiness issues before implementation milestones.
  • Validate that infrastructure project activities align with approved security, access, compliance, vulnerability remediation, and operational governance requirements.
  • Perform technical execution tasks related to server builds, migrations, de‑commissions, access changes, platform readiness, configuration updates, and infrastructure transition activities.
  • Validate implementation outcomes through testing, evidence capture, post‑change checks, stakeholder confirmation, and operational acceptance criteria.
  • Use approved privileged access methods such as CyberArk and designated privileged accounts for project implementation activities.
  • Prepare infrastructure deliverables for transition to operations, including build documentation, monitoring confirmation, backup validation, support ownership, runbooks, and known‑issue tracking.
  • Coordinate project handoffs with platform, application, database, security, cloud, backup, storage, and operational support teams.
  • Support disaster recovery, restore, and resiliency testing when required as part of project implementation or transformation delivery.
  • Maintain key project documentation, including cutover plans, validation checklists, readiness trackers, and transition materials.
  • Report status, risks, blockers, dependencies, and milestone readiness to project leads and stakeholders.
  • Partner with technical, project, vendor, and business teams to support execution, handoff, and transition to operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience executing infrastructure projects across Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, cloud, virtualized, and physical environments.
  • Working knowledge of server builds, migrations, de‑commissions, directory services, privileged access, patching, monitoring readiness, backup validation, restore testing, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
  • Experience with ITSM, CMDB, project tracking, and infrastructure tools such as ServiceNow, CyberArk, VMware, Azure, monitoring, backup, patching, automation, and cloud management platforms.
  • Ability to support implementation planning, cutover execution, readiness validation, risk tracking, issue escalation, technical handoffs, and closure documentation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL‑based change, release, service management, CAB, security, compliance, and governance processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience; related certifications are preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills across technical, project, vendor, and business teams in enterprise transformation, migration, modernization, or managed services transition projects.
