About the role
We are seeking an experienced UI Front End Software Engineer who will directly meet mission-critical needs in partnership with mission customers. This individual will lead a team of UI developers, designing front-end architecture and coding standards while remaining hands-on in development across the full software product lifecycle in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers, providing technical guidance, standards, and code review
- Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern frameworks
- Translate prototypes and design specifications into functional, responsive, and accessible interfaces
- Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs, ensuring efficient data flow between front-end and back-end systems
- Contribute to full-stack development efforts as needed, including backend services, database interactions, and deployment pipelines
- Establish and enforce front-end coding standards, best practices, and component reuse across the team
- Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure design intent is preserved through implementation
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt
- Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG) throughout development
- Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance standards
- Develop and debug software
- Integrate systems and implement algorithms to meet performance goals
Requirements
A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
- Twelve (12) years experience as a Software Engineer (SWE), in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (four years of additional SWE experience may substitute for the degree)
Skills
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team
- Strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Full-stack experience, including backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, RESTful/GraphQL API design)
- Experience with state management, component-based architecture, and responsive design
- Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud is a plus)
- Experience working closely with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure accurate implementation of accessible interfaces
- Experience with tiered architectural systems and in a Linux/Ubuntu environment (desired)

Pay
The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience, is $245,000 - $270,000.
