Enterprise Sales Engineer
Rimes provides the Intelligence Fabric for Capital Markets, a trusted data network and intelligence architecture that transforms fragmented data, operations and workflows into decision-grade intelligence. The world's leading institutional investors, asset managers, and service providers rely on Rimes to help them make better investment decisions that power more than US$ 75 trillion in AUM annually.
About the role
The Enterprise Sales Engineer is a senior pre-sales and solution-design role, partnering closely with Enterprise Sales and Account Management to articulate and demonstrate the value of Rimes' investment data managed services and investment intelligence platform. This role owns the end-to-end technical sales process for complex enterprise engagements involving Rimes' managed data solutions and investment intelligence & analytics platform.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to CIOs, COOs, Heads of Investment Data & Technology, Risk, Performance, and Operations. Lead discovery with clients that goes beyond requirements gathering to expose structural data, governance, and operating-model weaknesses. Lead engagements across the Asia-Pacific region, with a concentration of clients in ASEAN and Australia.
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Solutions, the Enterprise Sales Engineer plays a critical role in shaping client engagements, from early discovery through to solution design, demonstrations, proof-of-value, and transition to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Client Discovery
- Partner with the sales and account management teams by leading technical and functional discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand data, governance, technology, and operating-model challenges across their investment lifecycle.
- Design end-to-end Rimes solutions that support enterprise data management, portfolio oversight, rebalancing, data quality, operational resilience, and regulatory obligations.
- Solution Architecture
- Design and articulate enterprise-grade investment data architectures leveraging Rimes' capabilities across:
- Multi-asset investment data management
- Benchmarks, indices, reference data, pricing, ESG, and research
- Performance, risk, attribution, and regulatory reporting workflows
- Data platform delivery and integration, including data lakehouse architectures (Databricks, Delta Lake), cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse), etc.
- Translate highly nuanced client challenges (e.g., private markets data, custodian transitions, operating model evolution, regulatory compliance, internal vs. outsourced models) into a coherent solution architecture.
- Design and articulate enterprise-grade investment data architectures leveraging Rimes' capabilities across:
- Pre-Sales Execution
- Own the technical pre-sales engagement for Rimes solutions, including:
- Investment Data Managed Services (benchmarks, indices, reference data, pricing, research, ESG, corporate actions)
- Investment Intelligence platform supporting Total Portfolio View (TPV), rebalancing under Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), and the transition to Total Portfolio Approach (TPA)
- Deliver scenario-driven and compelling product demonstrations that mirror real client operating models rather than generic functionality walkthroughs.
- Lead high-stakes proof-of-concepts, balancing depth, speed, and commercial impact.
- Articulate measurable business outcomes, not just technical success.
- Own the technical pre-sales engagement for Rimes solutions, including:
- Commercial & Proposal Support
- Partner with Sales and Account Management to position Rimes strategically against incumbent vendors and internal build options.
- Own the technical narrative across RFPs, RFIs, and executive presentations—not just answering questions, but shaping evaluation criteria.
- Capture detailed client requirements into Statements of Work and support accurate scoping of implementation and managed services.
- Internal Collaboration
- Ensure a seamless handover of pre-sales engagements to Professional Services and implementation teams by providing context on solution intent, client priorities, and success criteria to support efficient implementation.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams.
- Contribute to internal enablement through knowledge sharing, solution artifacts, and best-practice frameworks.
- Product & Market Feedback
- Act as a conduit between clients, Sales, Product, and Engineering by qualifying product enhancement requirements and sharing market intelligence to help evolve Rimes' go-to-market strategies.
Requirements
- Strong experience in financial services, investment management, or capital markets.
- Deep understanding of investment data domains and operational workflows (pricing, benchmarks, corporate actions, reference data, analytics).
- Proven experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or consulting roles within enterprise technology or data platforms.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Experience with Asia-Pacific clients' unique challenges, including exposure to large asset owners, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and the Australian Superannuation industry.
- Familiarity with modern data platform technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud-native data warehouses; ability to articulate Rimes' data delivery within clients' existing data lakehouse and cloud architectures.
Skills
- Consultative, outcome-oriented client engagement style.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including executive-level presentations.
- Ability to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
- Commercial awareness and comfort supporting solution scoping and deal strategy.
- Ability to leverage AI tools effectively to drive operational efficiency.
