Enterprise Risk Organization Governance & Reporting Specialist
Capital One’s Enterprise Risk Organization (ERO) Chief of Staff Team leads governance and oversight for multiple senior management committee and Board activities, while driving broader ERO strategy, reporting, and culture. About the role
We are seeking a Principal Associate to drive the well-managed execution of Board reporting processes owned by the ERO Chief of Staff team. In this role, you will partner with ERO leadership and serve as a critical liaison with subject-matter experts across ERO, Credit & Financial Risk (CFRM), and Governance & Securities (GovSec), gaining exposure to senior leaders and their teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end processes that enable the development and delivery of the quarterly Integrated Risk Management Report (IRMR), Capital One’s primary risk report for the Board of Directors, which contains the aggregate risk profile for the Company and a view of each risk category.
- Enable the well-managed delivery of ERO-owned reports and presentations to the Board, ensuring the highest quality product and audit-ready documentation.
- Lead the processes that support second-line’s sub-certification and attestation for SEC reporting.
- Partner horizontally across all three lines of defense and with GovSec to communicate updates and support broader deadlines.
- Author, review, and continuously enhance governance systems (e.g., tools, templates, job aids, and processes).
- Support broader governance and Board initiatives owned by the ERO Chief of Staff.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management, or Risk Management
- At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with multiple internal business stakeholders
- At least 2 years of experience working with Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gemini)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Project Management, Process Management, or Risk Management
- 3+ years of experience supporting senior leadership
- 2+ years of experience creating talking points, executive summaries, and other senior-level communications
- Risk Management Professional certification (e.g., CRMP, CRM, RMR)
- Project Management Professional certification (e.g., PMP)
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $120,800 – $137,900
- Richmond, VA: $109,900 – $125,400
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
