Enterprise Risk Management & Reinsurance, Summer Internship – Short Hills, NJ (Hybrid)

About the Role

Selective Insurance's Ignite Internship Program offers an 11-week, full-time experience at our corporate office in Short Hills, NJ. The Enterprise Risk Management and Reinsurance (ERM) team is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company's financial stability and operations. They develop strategies to manage these risks and ensure the company is adequately protected through reinsurance arrangements. This internship offers hands-on experience in risk assessment and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Support the ERM team in identifying, assessing, and reporting on emerging risks.
• Update stress tests and risk reports using internally approved methodologies and processes.
• Assist with reinsurance placement analysis as needed.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships in order to achieve business goals.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to achieving business goals.
• Convey facts and information effectively in both verbal and written communications.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student (Class of 2028 preferred).
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.
• High School Diploma required.
• Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

Pay

USD $22.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
