Summary Of Job Responsibilities Under the direction of the Director of Risk and Compliance, the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Analyst plays an integral role in developing, implementing, and maturing PERA’s comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Compliance programs. In this role, the Analyst works closely with the Director to identify and assess enterprise risks and support PERA’s adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policy, and industry standards. This position works as a trusted advisor and thought partner across PERA divisions to promote risk and compliance awareness and safeguard organizational integrity, transparency, and accountability. The Analyst’s key responsibilities include maintaining risk and control documentation, facilitating risk analyses, and tracking risk and compliance issues from identification through remediation. The Analyst also continuously improves risk reporting tools and participates in a wide variety of meetings and workshops. They may specialize in one or more categories of enterprise risk and compliance, as dictated by organizational needs. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Employees are held accountable for all duties of the job. Individuals must be able to perform these duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Support the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and maturation of PERA’s ERM and Compliance programs, in alignment with ISO, COSO, or other applicable standards and in ways tailored to PERA’s needs. Effectively assess risks using organizational risk appetite and tolerance levels. Develop and maintain registers, dashboards, and other tools to track enterprise risk and compliance topics in support of organizational transparency and strategic alignment. Nurture collaborative relationships across the organization. Support the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of compliance initiatives, tools, and metrics to ensure PERA’s alignment with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards. Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to PERA divisions and project teams on enterprise risk and compliance matters. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, accuracy, and transparency. Use independent judgment to escalate enterprise risk and compliance concerns to leadership. Proactively support ethical behavior and risk awareness across the organization. Compile and track updates from management and staff regarding compliance matters and collaborate across the organization to route concerns to appropriate channels for evaluation, investigation, and resolution. Support staff training on ERM and compliance principles and practices. Stay current on evolving industry trends and changes in risk management and compliance practices. Collaborate with internal partners and insurance brokers to monitor insurance market trends, litigation development, and emerging risks impacting PERA’s exposures, and help manage PERA’s commercial insurance portfolio. Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity. Job Qualifications A combination of relevant education, training, and experience that demonstrates the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities will be considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Legal Studies, Finance, Public Policy, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. One or more professional certifications or completion of specialized training in ERM and compliance are preferred. At least four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience, including experience specific to process improvement, data management, and database/reference resource development. Knowledge of the principles of ERM and compliance, and the ability to apply those principles across various divisions in a complex organization. Strong analytical skills to identify and evaluate risks and devise mitigation strategies. Understanding of insurance as a risk treatment and the ability to perform administrative tasks pertaining to commercial insurance programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay complex information. Aptitude for addressing (and escalating, as appropriate) questions and challenges that arise when implementing ERM and compliance measures. Ability to communicate with diverse internal audiences; experience communicating with senior leaders is a plus Experience working with regulated entities, especially those in the financial and/or public sectors, is preferred. Ability to track changes in regulations, industry practices, and emerging risks impacting PERA’s operations. Sound judgment to assess and escalate ERM and compliance issues to leadership through appropriate channels as needed. A learning mindset to adapt to a growing and evolving organization.
