Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Manager

An individual-contributor role providing specialized knowledge and expertise in the assessment, selection, and initial implementation planning of a new ERP system, with a focus on supply chain and manufacturing planning.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the technical evaluation process for selecting a new ERP system, ensuring alignment with business goals and supply chain and manufacturing requirements.
  • Conducts comprehensive needs assessments and gap analyses to determine system requirements.
  • Oversees the development aspects of a program including ERP scope and collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather and document detailed business requirements.
  • Applies deep knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing planning to assess ERP functionalities and ensure they meet operational needs for production and aftermarket integration.
  • Evaluates integration of the ERP system into Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain and manufacturing through effective ERP system implementation.
  • Evaluates ERP systems' capabilities in demand planning, inventory management, production scheduling, shop floor control, and logistics.
  • Creates Material Information Flow Analysis (MIFA) for current state including flow, triggers, financials, inventory, manual input, work order closure, etc.
  • Manages Bill of Material (BOM) through digital thread for production and new programs.
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage automation driven by return on investment (ROI).
  • Works with applicable Supply Chain Leaders to document process changes and graphical work instruction for the ERP System.
  • Manages interactions with ERP vendors, including RFP/RFI processes, product demonstrations, and contract negotiations.
  • Participates in assessing vendor proposals and recommending the best-fit ERP solutions based on strategic goals and operational requirements.
  • Supports the development and management of project plans for the scoping and evaluation phases, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Works closely with IT, finance, procurement, and other relevant departments to ensure comprehensive evaluation and alignment.
  • Facilitates workshops and meetings with key stakeholders to ensure their needs are captured and addressed.
  • Provides expert insights and updates to senior management on project progress, key findings, and recommendations.
  • Identifies and communicates risks associated with the selection and implementation of the ERP system.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the evaluation process.
  • Prepares detailed reports and presentations summarizing evaluation outcomes, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of all evaluation activities, findings, and decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of related experience in supply chain and manufacturing planning.
  • Experience in ERP system evaluation/implementation.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes, including demand forecasting, inventory management, production planning, shop floor control, and logistics.
  • Proven ability to contribute expertise within cross-functional project teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with leading ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and their supply chain and manufacturing modules.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in supply chain management or manufacturing (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM) highly preferred.
  • Experience with change management and training in ERP implementation.
  • Knowledge of data migration and system integration best practices.

Pay

Salary Range: USD $114,012.25/Yr. - USD $171,018.37/Yr.
