Enterprise Practice Lead (Data) - OIT ONLY.

About the role

The Colorado Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking an Enterprise Practice Lead, Data to help build the next generation of public services. This role sits at the intersection of craft and enterprise alignment, owning data governance, architecture, and analytics standards across OIT.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data governance, architecture, and analytics standards for practitioners across OIT.
• Translate enterprise data strategy into practical, usable guidance.
• Identify reusable data patterns, shared datasets, and common integration approaches.
• Spot governance gaps, data quality failures, and architecture drift.
• Run a data guild to foster a culture of data integrity.
• Develop a career pathway for data practitioners.
• Create and maintain shared resources for practitioners.
• Advise ITDs and product directors on strong data practice.
• Surface patterns of weak data practice across pods.

Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in data governance and standards.
• A track record of working across disciplines to ship things that work for real people.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data architecture, data analytics methods, state government data policy, open data standards, and career pathway design.

Skills

• Ability to connect data practice to delivery outcomes.
• Ability to build data literacy across non-data roles.
• Ability to hold privacy and security as the floor, not a constraint.
• Ability to make governance enabling, not bureaucratic.
• Ability to lead across maturity levels.

Pay

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
